Nuestra historia

Juan Cortez se mudó a Chicago desde su natal Lima, Perú, en mayo de 1999. Menos de dos meses después, el 4 de julio, enseñó su primera clase de español como instructor independiente. En agosto de 1999, co-fundó una primera escuela de español en Chicago. Más tarde, en diciembre de 2001, abrió su propia escuela, Spanish Language Center. Hoy, Spanish Language Center opera en cinco ubicaciones en el área de Chicago, cinco más en otros estados y dos cursos de inmersión en México y Perú.

Desde su primer día como profesor de español, Juan comenzó a desarrollar un método simplificado, lógico, efectivo y divertido para enseñar español. Con el tiempo se convertiría en la base del famoso “Cortez Method”. Este método permitió a Juan poder explicar fácilmente la estructura del idioma español a sus alumnos para su aplicación inmediata en la conversación. Esta metodología de enseñanza y el contenido de los materiales escritos correspondientes, han sido la base de la enseñanza de Juan Cortez. Debido a la efectividad de su método, la demanda de sus clases creció, lo que obligó a Juan a contratar y capacitar a otros instructores con este método. Durante la última década, ha refinado continuamente el Cortez Method y lo ha utilizado para enseñar español a miles de estudiantes y capacitar cientos de instructores alrededor del mundo.
